About Me

My Background

Art and my love of animals has always been an integral part of my life. My earliest memories involve wanting to express my deep appreciation for the natural world through art. My journey as an artist has been varied having worked as an illustrator and freelance artist. I have also worked alongside wild animals as a zoo keeper and had a long career with large prominent animal charities trying to make a difference to the lives of unwanted pets. One of the benefits of this is that I have been able to observe animals up close; seeing them as individuals informs the work I produce.

My Medium

Drawing is the key foundation to all my work and I work in a variety of mediums, predominately pastels, and acrylic paint.

My Inspiration

My inspiration comes from the wonder of the natural world , and especially the animal kingdom. I enjoy watching animals and appreciating them as individual sentient beings which I try to communicate through my work. I live on the edge of the beautiful Cotswolds in the UK and enjoy being out in the countryside with my two miniature Dachshunds, Pixie and Flora.
